In a number of instances, you may see other boating and safety publications and web sites reference temperature degrees in "Fahrenheit" or "Celsius." These are both what is referred to as thermometeric scales.

Fahrenheit has extremes established as 32 degrees above zero for the freezing point and 212 degrees above zero for the boiling point of water.

Celsius scale maintains zero degrees as the freezing point and 100 degrees representing the boiling point of water.
